Vocals & Guitar - Dobba
Keyboard - Norbert

After the experimental "Nightmare of You" and the messy disaster of "Jack The Ripper" the band returned to what they did best, writing songs that took the p**s out of their mates.

Lonesome Farmer Bill is a homage to Billy Gratton, AHC wannabee and chicken farmer extraordinaire. The song is about his doomed romance with the lovely Karen Mellors. If the romance had succeeded Billy could have found himself a fully paid up member of the AHC. Unfortunately for him it failed miserably and he was soon dumped by Karen who criticised his somewhat enthusiastic kissing style and accused him of being ugly.

The song also marks yet another musical milestone for the Fingolstones. It is the first (and last) song in which Norbert plays the keyboard all the way through (not counting of course the keyboard only tracks), perfectly accompanying Dobbas country style guitar. Norbert is the Jon Lord to Dobbas Ritchie Blackmore. Dobba sings on this one and adopts a sort of Wurzels/Grumbleweeds vocal style.

After a period of experimentation the band were back writing the songs their fans wanted to hear and this theme would continue right through to the end of their debut album.

It is a little known fact that Billy actually invented the "IceWash"  Jeans look.

Well I'm a lonesome farmer
And my name it is Bill
I had a young town girl
But now I feel ill

She thought I was boring
And really a drag
For I was a farmer
And she was a slag

My anecdotes on farming
Drove her away
But it really don't matter
I'm ugly anyway.....Yeah

I kiss like a kipper
In search of a meal
My tongue on her tonsils
She often could feel.....Oh Yeah

So I'll just keep on
My sad and lonesome song
I weren't in the Arsehole Club
For very long.....Oh Yep..
So don't piss me off about it Richards
