For Skeggy Market as in Drunken Reddish the Fingolstones again turned to the world of traditional Olde Englishe tunes to regale their love (and hate) of the British Sea Side Resort.

All the band had spent parts of their childhood in the dreary
Lincolnshire resort so beloved of Chav's and the great unwashed. All had differing memories of it and it affected their lives in different ways. For Booga and Norbert it was memories of endless days in rain lashed caravans with nothing to do and only a copy of Puzzler magazine and the Beano Summer Special to ward of the boredom. When the rain eventually stopped it was a treck to the beach to huddle behind a wind break, dodge the oil slick pollution on the beach and eat cheese sandwiches containing more sand than whiche.
For Dobba however it was something different altogether. To him the place had a majesterial beauty unmatched across the globe. From the baroque splendour of the Clock Tower to the chink chink of the penny arcades, Skeggy was all he ever dreamed of. Dobba wanted to make the song a tribute to all that he loved about the town, an affectionate journey through happy childhood memories.
Norbert and Booga however could not bring themselves to praise such a s**thole and brought pressure to bear. Unable to force his rose tinted views upon them Dobba had to concede defeat and thus Skeggy market was born.

The song graphically illustrates the misery and suicidal tendencies a week in Skeg can produce amongst sane men and is all the better for it.

Are you going to Skeggy Market
Lots of crap and lots of s**t
See the sands two miles long
Full of oil and what a pong

Dead birds are washed on the beach
Youngsters with a candy floss each
Screaming kids along the sea shore
I aint coming here any more

Chip papers blow in a force ten breeze
In the quicksand up to my knees
Sounds of laughter fill the air
Seagull s**t is in your hair

Don't you go to Skeggy Market
Nowt to do and time for it
Bored in the rain and dying of flu
aaa aa aa aaaa choooo

Skegness, S***hole.
