Norbert - Guitar & Vocals
Dobba - Keyboard Daz - Vocals Charmer - Poncing Around Doing Nowt Don't you want me was the Fingolstones tribute to the Saltergate Club FC. At the time they were resident in Division 11 of the Chesterfield Sunday League and only a couple of seasons away from their greatest ever season when they clinched the title with some style. Norbert and the Charmer were both regular players and founder members of the club. Daz also played but spent most of his time on the bench. Dobba never pulled on the hallowed shirt, lets face it with those finger nails he was never cut out for the rufty tufty world of Sunday League football.
The song itself is a simple electronic affair with Dobba in charge of keyboards. Norbert clangs away on an old guitar whilst Daz croons along nicely with the lyrics. Even to this day no one has ever found out exactly what the Charmer contributed to this track. At the time of writing the song Ian Ashton was the club manager with John Lawson as his assistant. The song is of course another blatant rip off, this time of the classic Human league number from the early 80's. This song could have been a classic but is let down by both its brevity and poor production values. As it stands today it is a glaring example of a missed opportunity. |
